They used to say, “If a man doesn’t work, he shall not eat.” Since olden days, people have been working hard to feed themselves and their families. In these days, “Company” exists as one of the places that offer jobs to the people.

“Company” has no visible substance and is just a kind of mechanism built as per certain rules of society, and those who operate the mechanism must define the purpose of the “Company” and identify the philosophy that the “Company” is running under. And in fact, this definition and identification have a significant impact on the people who work in the “Company” as well as on the performance and interest of the “Company”.

Such corporate philosophies defined by the mechanism will, over the years and without being realized, have a substantial influence on the activities, the way of thinking and even on the personality of the employees. So will develop the corporate culture and the working environment, and they should be such that the society will value.

It is thus crucial that the “Company” have a sound corporate philosophy. I do not believe that many of today’s slogans, such as “Increasing corporate value” or “Benefiting our shareholder”, serve as a true corporate philosophy because they are not identifying any direction of the corporate approach to the society nor indicating any norm of conduct to the employee in a concrete manner. We can expect to achieve an increase of corporate value and our shareholder’s benefit as a result of the operation under such sound corporate philosophy only.

In our company’s daily operation, we think it extremely important to practice sound corporate culture and belief established for us, a Japanese company, which will fit well in with Japanese people’s mentality.

Our corporate philosophy is “Be quality-conscious about products, be faithful with customers and be thoughtful of humans.” Guided by this, we will contribute to the world prosperity through our products and will win the trust from the society.
